the highlight of the blog this week is Jason derulo! better known by his stage name Jason Derulo (a phonetic spelling of his last name), is an American singer-songwriter and dancer. Since the start of his career as a solo recording artist in 2009, Jason has sold over 30 million single and has achieved six Top 5 singles, including "Wiggle", "Talk Dirty", "The Other Side", "Ridin' Solo", "In My Head", and "Whatcha Say".
After producing records for several artists and writing songs for Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman, Young Money Entertainment owner Lil Wayne and rapper Diddy, Derulo signed to minor recording label Beluga Heights. After Beluga Heights became part of the Warner Music Group, Derulo released his debut single "Whatcha Say" in May 2009. It sold over five million digital downloads, gaining an RIAA certification of triple platinum, and reaching number 1 in the U.S. and New Zealand. Derulo released his second single, "In My Head", in December 2009. His debut album, Jason Derulo, was released on March 2, 2010. He released his second studio album, Future History, on September 16, 2011, the album was preceded by the release of the UK number-one single "Don't Wanna Go Home". Derulo's third international album, Tattoos, was released on September 24, 2013, while Derulo's third U.S album Talk Dirty was released on April 15, 2014.

In 2008, Lovato rose to prominence in the Disney Channel television film Camp Rock and signed a recording contract with Hollywood Records. She released her debut album, Don't Forget, that September; it has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 530,000 copies. In 2009, Lovato received her own television series, Sonny with a Chance. Her second album, Here We Go Again, was released that July and debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200; its title track became her first single to break the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, reaching number 15, and being certified platinum.
After the release of additional television films and their soundtracks in 2010, Lovato's personal issues put her career on hiatus and ended Sonny with a Chance after its second season. Her third album, Unbroken (2011), addresses several of her difficulties. Its lead single, "Skyscraper", became Lovato's first single at the time to be certified platinum in the United States; its second single, "Give Your Heart a Break", was certified triple platinum. Lovato was as a judge and mentor on the American version of The X Factor in 2012 and 2013. Her fourth album, Demi (2013), had first-week sales of 110,000 copies (the best debut week of Lovato's recording career). Its lead single, "Heart Attack" became her first song to chart within the top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Lovato has received a number of accolades, including an MTV Video Music Award, thirty one Teen Choice Awards nominations (twelve of which she won), five People's Choice Awards, two ALMA Awards and a Billboard Touring Awards. In 2013, Maxim ranked her 26th on its Hot 100 list and Billboard ranked her second on its Social 50 Artists of the Year list. Outside the entertainment industry, Lovato is involved with several social and environmental causes. In May 2013, she was cited for her dedication as a mentor to teens and young adults with mental-health challenges at a National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day hosted by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration in Washington, D.C.. She has also become an advocate for the LGBT community. In 2014 she was announced as the Grand Marshal for LA PRIDE week, and that same year she became the face for HRC's America's for Marriage Equality Campaign.

This week Selena Gomez is the highlight of our blog. is an American actress and singer. Born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, she was first featured on the children's series Barney & Friends in the early 2000s. In 2007, Gomez came to prominence after being cast in the Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place. She portrayed the starring character Alex Russo until its conclusion in 2012. She formed her band Selena Gomez & the Scene after signing a recording contract with Hollywood Records in 2008; they released the studio albums Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010), and When the Sun Goes Down (2011) before beginning a hiatus in 2012.
Gomez entered the film industry with star billings in feature films including Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), and Hotel Transylvania (2012). She embraced an increasingly mature public image with her star billing in the controversial film Spring Breakers (2013) and her debut solo studio album Stars Dance (2013). Her representative stated that she had spent time there "voluntarily [...] but not for substance abuse."It was later speculated that her on-again-off-again relationship with Bieber had led to her stint in rehab.In April of that year, it was confirmed that Gomez had fired her mother and stepfather as her managers; the two had managed Gomez since her career began.It was confirmed that the decision was purely business based and that there was no strain in their relationship. It was also confirmed that the decision had nothing to do with Gomez's mother's disapproval of her relationship with Bieber. Gomez later signed with the WME and Brillstein companies to manage her career.The news of Gomez's new management also fueled rumors that her recording contract with Hollywood Records was ending, and that Gomez was searching for a new label.It was confirmed in September that Gomez had signed a new contract with Interscope and had begun working on her second studio album. Gomez released a compilation album, For You, to finalize her deal with Hollywood Records.
Gomez starred in the film adaption of the Ric Browde novel While I'm Dead... Feed the Dog opposite Dylan McDermott and Nat Wolff.Titled Behaving Badly, the film received a negative critical and commercial reception. She later appeared in the film Rudderless, the directorial debut of William H.
